IC INFORMATION
Character Name: Aziraphale
Species: Angel
Canon: Good Omens
Canon Point: 2x06 "Every Day"
Character Age: Older than the concept of time itself, and/or ~6000 years old.
CRAU: No
CRAU Explanation: N/A
Character Appearance: here's a good example.
Powers and Abilities: Admittedly, angelic powers are very vaguely defined in Good Omens. Essentially, Aziraphale can perform miracles. This can be anything ranging from healing injuries, conjuring light, and doing all kinds of reality-altering things, big and small. Most of what he does is on a pretty small scale, and if/when he gets his miracle abilities back, he won't be able to do anything game-breaking. He'll stick to being able to miracle himself sober if he drinks too much.
Also, he has a big old pair of white wings that exist in a pocket dimension most of the time (or until he gets his abilities back).
What Did Your Character Wish For? Aziraphale wished for the ability to protect his world - and Crowley - from Heaven's machinations.
What Potion Did They Receive? The blue one.
Did They Drink It? Yes. He'll now have a minor healing ability.
Character Questions:
1. Who is the person your character is most bonded with from their canon? Or who is someone they miss the most?
This one is simple: it's Crowley. If soulmates exist in Good Omens, then Crowley is his. They've known each other since "before the Beginning", and no one knows Aziraphale the way Crowley does. Despite being on ostensibly opposite sides, they found themselves both assigned to Earth, and discovered that they have more in common with each other than each of them does with their respective head office. They have a mutual love of Earth, and of humanity, such that they teamed up to prevent Heaven and Hell from destroying it all in the Apocalypse. Over the centuries, Crowley has shaped and molded a lot of Aziraphale's beliefs and opinions, and shown him that the world doesn't exist in just black and white - that there are shades of gray. The fact that Aziraphale was at all willing to rebel against Heaven, to stand on the side of humanity to stop the Apocalypse, is due in large part to Crowley's influence on him.
2. What are they most afraid of?
Crowley's safety is probably his biggest fear - at least, it has been for most of history. Being on opposite sides of an eternal conflict, he and Crowley have always had to keep their friendship kind of on the down-low, so most of his anxiety tends to center around the demon. It's why he was so reluctant to give Crowley holy water when he asked for it - he was terrified of giving his only friend the one thing that could truly kill him. More recently, the threat of the Apocalypse has also become a fear for him - the realization that he doesn't want the world to end is the primary motivation for him in the first season of Good Omens, and indeed it's very likely one of his motivations for taking the promotion at the end of season 2. Protecting humanity and the world is pretty much the only thing that he would be willing to risk his relationship with Crowley for - and indeed another thing he's afraid of at the moment is that he may have destroyed that, in accepting the Metatron's offer to become Supreme Archangel. Aziraphale is, in short, a bundle of anxiety.
3. What is their weakness? Emotionally, mentally and physically?
Aziraphale's black-and-white world view. He's an angel, after all, and he's spent his entire long existence being told that Heaven is the side of Good and Right, and Hell is the side of Bad and Wrong. This is certainly in conflict with a lot of his lived experiences, particularly his friendship with Crowley, and when faced with the contradiction, he insisted that Crowley ought to be an angel again - a sentiment which Crowley, needless to say, does not share. Aziraphale's world view, then, is kind of constantly in conflict with itself, and it's his biggest weakness. It's an internal conflict that has been raging for centuries at this point, and he's probably going to have to really confront it at some point, and make some hard decisions about what he actually believes.
4. What would make them happiest?
Freedom. Freedom from Heaven, the knowledge that the world is safe, and the ability to be with Crowley without fear. There is nothing in the universe that would make Aziraphale happier than that, but he's frankly too frightened to even hope for something like that at this point.
5. What’s their type for a lover?
Frankly, it is Crowley. If Aziraphale has a true love, Crowley is it. They complement each other perfectly, and are always stronger together. They're yin and yang. Crowley is the bad boy with a heart of gold, and Aziraphale is just enough of a bastard to be worth liking.
